Politicians Attack Each Other in New Music Video

Is this our future?

  • Saying the U.S. election campaigning this year is heated is an understatement. We’ve been seeing all sorts of videos and social media commentary explaining and parodying everything that’s going on, and that will undoubtedly continue on even beyond November.

In that vein, DJ Shadow released a new music video today called “Nobody Speak,” featuring Run the Jewels. In it, two government leaders engage in a battle of words that quickly escalates into an all out brawl (while lip syncing the lyrics of this song).

“It’s what I really wish Trump and Hillary would just do and get it over with,” said Run the Jewels’ Killer Mike. While part of me doubts that will be happening anytime soon, the way this election is going, who can really say anything for sure?

But DJ Shadow’s statement perhaps sums up the political statement the best: “We wanted to make a positive, life-affirming video that captures politicians at their election-year best. We got this instead.”
