John Legend Stages Epic "Hey Ya!" Lip Sync

With Stevie Wonder!

  • Lip Sync Battle returned with a special All Stars Live episode this past weekend. It featured a formidable line-up, including Michael Phelps, Simone Biles, and Terry Crews. While Michael Phelps may have won the whole thing with his rendition of “Lose Yourself” by Eminem, we can’t not pay attention to John Legend’s incredible staging of Outkast’s “Hey Ya!”

The song was introduced by Stephen Merchant, and featured freaking Stevie Wonder alongside Legend. That line up in and of itself deserves a standing ovation from the crowd. But even beyond that, Legend is almost flawless in his execution of the shortened version of “Hey Ya!” — and certainly his dance moves are perfection.

The only thing truly missing from this? More cutaways to his wife and Lip Sync Battle commentator, Chrissy Teigen, who often steals the show herself in normal episodes. Guess we’ll just have to wait for the show’s season three return in October for more Chrissy!
