  • Hamilton has dazzled audiences for more than a year now. Tickets to the show are still hard to come by, and it’s not hard to see why. The popular musical has already made a significant impact on theatre in the 21st Century. It’s also had an impact on the broader music community, which is why stars from across music have come together to work on the Hamilton Mixtape.

In advance of the mixtape's release, the producers of the show staged a performance featuring some of its biggest stars and live-streamed it to YouTube. Check out that video above.

The internet, already Hamilton obsessed, of course reacted to the release of the mixtape:

  • As the resident Hamilton expert in the office, this news excites me. What really excites me is some of the guests on this album. Included amongst songs from Ashanti & Ja Rule, Kelly Clarkson, and Usher, there are also buried treasures. The last song on the album is from Chance the Rapper. Common features on a song with the Roots, and so does Busta Rhymes.

There are also two new songs, one from the man himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and one from Dessa, set from the viewpoint of Anjelica Schyuler. Safe to say: this mixtape is HOT FIRE.
