SOBER Miley Cyrus Performs in NYC Subway With Jimmy Fallon

It's a new era

  • Miley Cyrus took over The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night and did what Miley does best: just being Miley. The singer told stories about her only trip to the beach with her family, performed her hit song Malibu and performed incognito at the subway.

Dressed in a black wig, big sunglasses and a straw hat, Cyrus joined Fallon (aka Bart) in the NYC Subway for a mini-concert. The first song she sang? A fan favorite cover of hers— Jolene. The moment the songstress opened her mouth and started singing, the crowd gathered in, no doubt knowing it was her. Sure, sunglasses can disguise her face but there is no mistaking that raspy voice of hers. When the wig came off and the crowd cheered, Cyrus performed her hit song “Party in The USA.”

  • The episode was full of fun. The duo’s appearance at the subway station was just one of the highlights was when Miley talked about her sobriety. Then, they discussed how the day no one ever saw coming is here: Miley has given up weed. Giving Fallon partial credit for her sobriety, Cyrus explained that her last few appearances on his show were a little odd because she was high. “I don’t know if you remember the last time I was here, I was dressed as a cat of a bunny rabbit…. There’s a reason for that. I was high,” she said.

Sober or high, Miley is uber talented. What do you guys think? Are you guys excited about Miley’s new music and new vibes? Let us know in the comments or @whatstrending on Twitter!
