2017 was a great year for music with artists like Kendrick Lamar and SZA topping the charts with their unique Hip-Hop/R&B flows. And now — just two days into 2018 — another major Pop/R&B artist has hit the ground running with the announcement of their long-awaited fifth-studio album. That's right, Justin Timberlake fans — more than four years since the release of The 20/20 Experience — 2 of 2 Timberlake is back with Man Of The Woods.
Timberlake shared the news on Twitter early Tuesday morning with this video:
"This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but more so than any other album I've ever written — where I'm from," says Timberlake. "And, it's personal."
The video, itself, is very "raw" — showcasing Timberlake in different elements and landscapes. Pharrell — also in the video — says it best: "It feels so earthy. It's just where you are in your life right now."
Though no official track list has been released, we do know the first single is due out on January 5 with the full album following on February 2. This is perfect timing for Timberlake as he set to perform this year's Super Bowl halftime show on February 4. Since confirming his attendance, audiences have been split due to the atrocity of a halftime performance that happened in 2004 — remember "Nipplegate?"
