Zelda Williams, daughter of the late Robin Williams, has decided to quit social media because of Internet trolls harassing and taunting her about the death of her father.
The 25-year-old actress referred to the comments as "cruel and unnecessary" and asked that people try to be more respectful during such a difficult time.
Zelda's public statement regarding her father's death was utterly heartbreaking and we should all be mindful of the fact that she and her family are in deep mourning.
"Dad was, is and always will be one of the kindest, most generous, gentlest souls I've ever known, and while there are few things I know for certain right now, one of them is that not just my world, but the entire world is forever a little darker, less colorful and less full of laughter in his absence. We'll just have to work twice as hard to fill it back up again," Williams posted on her personal Tumblr.
Keep your chin up, Zelda.
There are still many of us who miss your father deeply. And we'll certainly work twice as hard to fill the world back up with laughter again. Soon.
