  • It’s certainly easier than dumping a bucket of ice water on your head. UNICEF is asking individuals to take a photo of themselves as soon as they wake up, and tag it #WakeUpCall. The campaign aims to raise awareness of the continuing conflict in Syria, and raise money for UNICEF’s work with children in the area.

The first wakeup call came from UNICEF UK ambassador Jemima Khan, an English writer and magazine editor.

Since then, other celebrities have joined in the act, including Tom Hiddleston, Liam Neeson, and Naomi Campbell (who clearly wakes up looking just like this):

To donate £5 ($8.07 at the current rate) to UNICEF’s efforts, text SYRIA to 70007. Read more about UNICEF’s work in Syria. And, just to show that I’m not above it, here’s a #WakeUpCall photo of myself, less than an hour after waking up.
