What Advice Would You Give Yourself? Youtube’s #DearMe Wants to Know

YouTube is asking women what advice they would give their teenage selves in their new campaign #DearMe. Just hours after posting, #DearMe is the top trending term on Twitter. Seems like people have a lot they want to say!

The campaign, aimed at helping girls deal with all the issues young women have to face in society today, enlists the help of YouTube and Internet celebrities like Felicia Day, Hannah Hart and Michelle Phan.

#DearMe is meant to coincide with International Women’s Day on March 8. A YouTube blog post describes how they hope #DearMe can help: “YouTube is a place where people can come together, share interests, relate experiences and offer each other support. From #ItGetsBetter to #ProudtoPlay, we’ve seen our community inspire and empower those in need of encouragement. Today, we’re asking you to do the same for girls who don’t have to face their problems alone.”
