President Obama reading mean tweets about himself is funny. He's the leader of the free world, he's not going to let a few #thanksobama digs get him down. That's why the "mean tweets" genre, championed by the likes of "Jimmy Kimmel Live" is so good.
But what about when it's just normal kids reading tweets about themselves?
Yeah, that doesn't stay funny for long. As you watch, the tweets start clever, but get increasingly darker. The end of the video is just horrible.
This video was created by the Canada Safe School Network, a non-profit group that deals with youth violence. The organization has an indiegogo page to fund their "mean tweets" campaign, where they write, "over 50% of adolescents have admitted to being a victim of cyberbullying. So we made a video to remind the world that cyberbullying is no joke. It’s a serious issue that we want everyone talking about."
