  • Remember that “deep fried rat” from KFC that went viral on Facebook last week? Well, KFC had the oddly-shaped hunk of meat genetically tested, and they’ve officially confirmed: it’s a bird.

Chicken, to be clear. It’s not actually pigeon or something. There is, at the very least, real chicken DNA present in KFC’s chicken tenders.

Devorise Dixon, a 25-year-old California man, got internet famous after he posted a photo of a weird-shaped chicken tender with what looked like a long tail. He claimed that after he took a bite out of it, a KFC manager admitted it was a rat and apologized.

But KFC said that it was a hoax, released pictures showing white meat beneath the bite mark, and said security video from the restaurant didn’t even show him as a customer at the time.

Now they’re mad and demanding Dixon take it all back. “The right thing for this customer to do is to apologize and cease making false claims about the KFC brand.”

Dixon insists he knows what he bit into. “Honestly, it doesn’t matter what others think I know what I bit into and what it looks like never in life have .. seen a chicken strip with a long tail,” he wrote.
