Paris Attacks: More Than 100 Killed in Shootings & Bombings

There are messages of concern and support across social media as the tragedy unfolds in Paris.

  • The French news network France 24 is broadcasting live updates in English from the scene of the Paris attacks on YouTube.

  • Over 100 people are reported dead and there is a hostage situation in what seem to be coordinated attacks across Paris today.

    CNN is reporting that French president Francois Hollande has declared a state of emergency and closed the borders. “We have to show compassion and solidarity and we also have to show unity and keep our cool. France must be strong and great.”

    French authorities have launched a terrorism investigation. There has been no official claim for responsibility, though ISIS has reportedly applauded the attacks on Twitter.

    At least six shootings took place in Paris and three explosions took place at the Stade de France. Soccer fans in the stadium captured the sound of explosions during the France vs Germany game.
