  • If there’s been one shocking lack of oversight on something it has been Twitter on Trump’s Twitter feed. It has been well documented that— look. This isn’t a normal president. Pretending this is a normal president honestly helps nobody at all, so it’s odd that after Twitter banned users for so much less, they would not take down the president’s Twitter account even as he say — uses it to egg on North Korea, a country with nuclear capabilities. Well. Good news. One Twitter employee did what it takes. One Twitter employee. On his last day of work. Deleted Donald Trump’s entire Twitter feed. And it was left deleted. For eleven minutes.

  • The New York Times, in writing about the event, discovered it was not in fact a Twitter employee who deleted the account, but a third party contracted. This opens up worries of wether or not it is this easy to manipulate this massive social media platform if you are outside the company — or even within. Especially given the stories of Russian collusion and Russian meddling in social media platforms, this is a worrying subject. However, for now, let us all just enjoy that for a brief eleven minutes reality felt okayish.
