  • The survivors of the tragic Parkland high school shooting which took place in Florida yesterday are speaking out on social media against politicians who offer thoughts and prayers, but refuse to do anything serious about gun control to prevent a tragedy like this from happening again. One example that took the Internet by storm — is the plea of survivor and high school senior David Hogg, who spoke both to Good Morning America and CNN in videos below, asking for action so this does not become the new normal.

  • Students and teachers have sent out tweets expressing disappointment with the government, and the media for harassing the survivors of the massacre — a lot of which is incredibly on point. One going around currently is from student Cameron Kasky, which ends with — “Please don’t pray for me. Your prayers do nothing. Show me you care in the polls. Anyone who is reading this is luckier than many people today. Remember that.”

  • For those wondering what Cameron meant when he talked about the media tweeting at someone from the classroom, he was referring to a student tweeting from the classroom as reporters tried to tweet at him during his moment of horror like a bunch of weird insensitive ghouls.

  • Lastly — before a certain subset of our political spectrum can seize upon this tragedy to silence people trying to speak out for gun reform, those who survived the tragedy want you to know — they want you to speak out for gun reform!
