“Hotline Bling” Covers Compilation

The general consensus online is that Drake specifically designed his goofy “Hotline Bling” music video with the oversized turtleneck and dad-dancing to go viral on the internet. If that’s true, boy did he do a good job. Musicians all over YouTube have jumped on board to make their own covers and homages.

Considering how easy it is to make fun of “Hotline Bling,” a lot of the covers are surprisingly moody and soulful – like Daniela Andrade’s stripped-down version, or Christian Kalpee, or Conor Maynard. There’s even a beautiful violin version from Jeremy Green.

Then again, we’ve got Sufjan Stevens making fun of the dance moves at a concert while the audience laughed, or Sam Smith and Disclosure going disco.
