It’s been a little over a month since #TUBEATHON 2016, and the team at What’s Trending are thrilled with how it went. Our unique digital media event on April 20 raised money and awareness for the American Red Cross’ 2016 Giving Day, helping families affected by disasters like tornados and home fires rebuild their lives.
According to the Red Cross, #TUBEATHON and the Giving Day raised enough to help 28,000 families in need during and after a disaster. The giving campaign focused on the #help1family hashtag, with Craigslist founder Craig Newmark donating $1 for every tweet including the hashtag.
Run in partnership with iHeart Radio and hosted by Shira Lazar, Bart Baker, Quddus and Taryn Southern, the event featured a star-studded lineup of amazing artists performing live, while your favorite social media stars raised money from the Draft Kings sponsored Tweet Bank.
If you couldn’t make the event, don’t worry — we’ve put together video highlights of some of the best performances from the #TUBEATHON stage, including 80Fitz & Ozeallos, DSharp, Sabrina Carpenter, Tyler Hilton, Alyson Stoner, Sam Tsui, Heffron Drive, Christina Grimmie, Nick Fradiani, Alexander Jean and 8ky 6lu.
