  • The Internet is notorious for coming up with some of the most ridiculous trends. Nowadays, you can slap the word “challenge” to the end of anything and get your 15-minutes of viral fame.

Here at What’s Trending, we’ve already attempted to figure out why people are so obsessed with dabbing, and are ready to tackle the latest craze – the Huh Challenge.

Twitter users may already be familiar with the videos of teens roasting each other, but where exactly did this challenge get its start?

Instagram is to blame! It all started when user @youloverichard1 posted a video of himself making fun of his friends followed by the phrase, “huuuuh.” Once Twitter user @danial_babar jumped in on the action, the challenge went viral.

  • Although the challenge was intended to be silly and harmless, many have criticized it for going a bit too far. It was all fun and games when teens were just poking fun of each other’s shoes, but once race and physical appearance got thrown in the mix, things went south.

YouTube star RiceGum, who has been accused of offending people himself, has even made a video of why he thinks the Huh Challenge must be stopped.

While Twitter users have also expressed how much they dislike the challenge, there are still some think it’s “the best thing to happen to the Internet.”

  • I can’t even imagine what would of happened if this challenge was around when I was in high school.
