Hannah Hart has one of the most organic rise-to-YouTube-stardom stories around. She was simply using YouTube for the reason it was made, sharing videos with friends! Her video found it’s way to YouTube’s “featured videos” section (that used to be a thing, in case anyone didn’t know) and her life hasn’t been the same since. Hannah has continued her popular My Drunk Kitchen videos that stemmed from that video she made for a college friend, but she’s much more than some tipsy cooking!
While Hannah always tries to include a deeper message in her My Drunk Kitchen videos, she wanted to do more. So, she came up with Hello Harto. A tour that is part travel show, part MDK, but mostly a way to bring the community she’s formed online together to help their own local communities through volunteering. That is why Hannah Hart is this week’s #WebCrushWednesday.

Hannah raised over $220,000 on her Indiegogo campaign and went on the road all over North America. At each city her tour stopped in, she did an informative travel show episode about the city, shot an episode of My Drunk Kitchen with a fan, and volunteered at a food bank with her community of hartosexuals. She inspired many of said hartosexuals along the way. After her visit in many of the cities, her fans kept in touch with each other and continued to volunteer at their local food bank.
Today, Hannah still organizes days of volunteering called “Have a Hart Day” where her communities around the world all spend a day helping others. Even a full 24 hour “Have a Hart Day” is in the works! Recently, on June 14th, Hannah joined her viewers at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and together they moved over 24 tons of food. That’s over 48,000 pounds!
