    The following is an excerpt from Watch: ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Comic-Con First Trailer

    Warners Bros. released the trailer at their Comic-Con presentation on Saturday (full panel coverage here) and the next installment in the “Mad Max” series was one of the hot topics at the convention.

    “Fury Road” stars Tom Hardy, who’s taking over for Mel Gibson as the new star of the franchise. George Miller is directing the upcoming action film.

    The following is an excerpt from Mad Max: Fury Road’s First Trailer Debuts at Comic-Con: Watch Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron in Explosive Car Chase

    The clip shows Mad Max (Hardy) in several explosive car chases, and getting captured and tortured in the desert. “My name is Max. My world is fire and blood,” he says. Theron (commander Imperator Furiosa) is seen traveling by sea, while model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley also makes a quick cameo as Splendid.

    The following is an excerpt from Comic-Con 2014: ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ footage revs up San Diego crowd

    “I love chase movies — the purest form of cinema. There’s no rule of law. There’s no honor,” Miller stated. “I just love breaking cars.”

    The first time con-goer also explained why he opted to shoot the new “Mad Max” in an unconventional manner, putting together a script that was more like a massive comic book with 3,500 panels, courtesy of storyboards from artist Brendan McCarthy.

    “People only speak when they have to,” Miller said, preferring to let the clip do the talking for him.
