The following is an excerpt from The extended 'Birdman' trailer shows the surreal life of a washed up superhero star

It's been decades since Michael Keaton was Batman, but it's still impossible not to associate him with the role. Now, Keaton is taking those associations and fictionalizing them in Birdman, where he stars as a washed up actor who used to be synonymous with the flying superhero. The film comes from director Alejandro González Iñárritu, who's made his mark through ensemble films with intertwining stories, like Babel. A new trailer for Birdman was just released, and it revels in the dark, funny, and surreal. The movie looks incredible (though we've known that since the first trailer), and it'll be in theaters later this year on October 17th.

The following is an excerpt from New Birdman trailer is even more incredible than the first one

Movie of the year? It might be all over already. Birdman, Alejandro González Iñárritu's fantasy comedy drama starring Michael Keaton as a washed-up actor trying to leave his superhero past behind, caused a huge stir in June with its first trailer. But the new, extended one makes the film - released in the States in October - look even weirder and better.

Now we see more of the fallout as Keaton's character, Riggan Thomson, fails to erase memories of his defining character by putting on a Broadway play, before losing it completely and... well, it's still not clear what happens then, but it involves fire, flying, running through Times Square in underpants and a lot of Charlie Kaufman-esque mindsplosions. Plus a lot of swearing, so be careful with that.

  • With the first trailer being such a huge hit two months ago, a lot must have been expected of the extended trailer. Well, now that it's here and somehow even better, we're super stoked! Still, you'll want to watch the trailer that started it all and we have it right on our site. We're sure you don't want to miss out in anyway. And even if you have seen it, how about a refresher? Heck, watch them side by side!
