Just one week after saying he was “definitely not” working on the next James Bond theme song, British singer Sam Smith has announced that he definitely did, and THIS IS WHY WE HAVE TRUST ISSUES, SAM.

The track for the upcoming Bond movie “Spectre” is called “Writing’s on the Wall” and will be released on September 25.

“This is one of the highlights of my career,” Smith said. “I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations.”

Smith follows in the tradition of fellow Brit Adele, who won an Oscar for her James Bond song “Skyfall” in 2013. If, like me, you needed a reminder of who he is, check out his hit song "Stay With Me."
