  • We finally have the full theatrical trailer of stop motion studio Laika’s fourth feature film, “Kubo and the Two Strings.” To be honest, I can’t even tell that this movie is stop motion. Laika, which was founded in 2005, has progressed by leaps and bounds with every feature they’ve made in their eleven years.

Check out the differences in there three movies so far below. The progress, has been made in large part due to the introduction of 3D printing on a mass scale. The studio has been able to produce more and more facial expressions, for less money as 3D printing technology has progressed.

  • Coraline (2009)

    Coraline
  • ParaNorman (2012)

    Paranorman
  • The Boxtrolls (2014)

    Boxtrolls
  • This fourth feature will also be the studio’s President and CEO Travis Knight’s directorial debut. Laika movies gets more than movie fans excited though. Travis is son of Phil Knight, a co-founder of Nike, so with each Laika movie release…comes an exclusive shoe. Here are some shoes from the past.

  • Coraline nike dunk high 02
  • Nike air foamposite one paranorman 02
  • Boxtrolls nike roshe run 2
  • Will you be watching the new flick in theaters, or picking up a new pair of kicks (yet to be revealed)?
