Golden Globes Noms Announced And It's-- La La Land v Deadpool?!

The Golden Globe Nominations were announced this morning and the nominees -- including La La Land, Moonlight, and Deadpool, are hardly what anyone could have predicted.

  • Ho ho ho! Merry Award Season! Ho ho ho!

Well it looks like award season is upon us again, with the first major trophy giving spectacle of the year, the Golden Globes, announcing their nominations, and there are plenty of shocks and surprises! La La Land leads the pack with a ridiculous seven nominations and is considered to be the favorite of its category, and possibly the entire awards season.

  • Of course, none of it matters because at the ever unpredictable Globes, it is up against the greatest film in human history that is also about a farting mercenary, Deadpool. Ryan Reynolds celebrated his— ridiculously unlikely — nomination for both Best Comedy and Best Actor in a Comedy with a tweet celebrating the fans.

  • Other big nominations include Manchester by the Sea, Moonlight and in the TV category we have newly minted and beloved Atlanta going up against classic awards show favorite Veep. Meanwhile Westworld, Game of Thrones and Stranger Things duke it out for the best TV Drama. All in all, a lovely list! You can read the full list of nominees at Variety.

What do you think of this list? Was your favorite movie or show nominated? Was anything snubbed? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter at @WhatsTrending.
