Is Adele, the singer who once bid us with a tragic "Hello", now saying "Goodbye" — to touring? Reports from the last show of her 25 tour, taking place in New Zealand said as much rather explicitly, as Adele cited both her natural aversion to touring, with many considering the possible other reasons which could be involved in the singers' decision — including her famous discomfort with the stage.
She was quoted as saying to the 40,000 plus audience in New Zealand's Mt. Smart Stadium —
"Touring isn't something I'm good at ... applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable. I don't know if I will ever tour again. The only reason I've toured is you. I'm not sure if touring is my bag."
Another fan caught her jokingly saying she would rather sit at home and eat Chinese food from an earlier concert, showing here indifference to touring has been an issue for her for a while. Of course, The Hollywood Reporter also notes, she very famously deals regularly with stage fright. All reasons to quit touring, but it doesn't make the move any less shocking. Adele is a superstar and then some, a part of our culture and an essential block of pop music. Having her not tour just somehow feels… weird… heartbreaking… Maybe I'll release an album about how heartbroken I am about Adele not touring! Yeah! You hear that Adele! Yeah!
Boy, you don't think that bug was trying to beg her to stay do you? Bugs are the wisest of the creatures after all.
