In late July, Linkin Park frontman, Chester Bennington, sadly took his own life at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, California.
Just days before his passing, however, Bennington looked incredibly happy as he vacationed with his family. Talinda Bennington recently shared this photo on social media:
"This was days b4 my husband took his own life," she captioned the photo. "Suicidal thoughts were there, but you'd never know. #fuckdepression."
Though it's been hard for many to cope with Bennington's death, it's safe to say that this photo is incredibly heartwarming. If there is any way Chester should be remembered, it should be like this — happy and relaxed alongside his wife and children.
As a fan of Linkin Park, I am incredibly grateful that Talinda Bennington chose to share something so personal with us all. I mean, there is so much to learn from this photo. We must understand that depression — and all other mental illnesses — are not obvious, but we can still help those in need.
Be there for others. Be kind. It's that simple.
