Three months ago, news circled that popular singer, Demi Lovato, was in hospital due to a suspected overdose. Despite the ex-Disney star recovering from addiction a few years prior, Lovato’s case showed that it can be very easy to fall back into old habits. Unfortunately, this time, it was life threatening.

As messages flooded in from fans, celebrities, friends and family, giving their prayers to Lovato for a speedy recovery, it showed how much of an impact she has had on the people around her. But today, she has been three months clean after alcohol treatment and has checked out of rehab. Moments like this for people who have had a history of addiction are monumental, as it marks a point where you’re finally in control of you, something which many lose when they become addicted. In case someone you know is addicted searching for a rehab near me is a good idea.

Lovato was seen today, looking like a new woman, and she even commented on how rehab has ‘really changed her.’ As E! News described the star looking happy and healthy as ever, it was living proof that it does get better.

Not only is Demi proud of herself, but so are her fans. Twitter’s ‘Lovatics’ have swarmed the site with congratulatory messages, saying how proud they are of how far she’s come, and that they’re excited for what the future holds for the star…

However, others have commented how although they are extremely happy for Demi, they do feel like people should respect her privacy…

I agree with them – she’s literally just checked out of rehab, it’s her first time being out in the open public on her own, with no constant supervision. It’s a hectic life she leads, and too much pressure too soon could lead to something bad. So people please, give the girl some space!

But we’re extremely proud of Demi and how far she’s come – you really are an inspiration.
