Reverend Lil Wayne Officiated a Same Sex Wedding While in Prison

It’s been a while since rapper Lil Wayne dominated the headlines (2013 ring a bell, anybody?). Come October, though, he’s releasing a memoir about his time at New York’s Rikers Island prison. Apparently, he had quite a time during his 8 month sentence — and even officiated a gay wedding for two other inmates.

According to the Guardian, Lil Wayne, real name Dwayne Carter Jr, writes: “Gatorade is liquid gold in this bitch. Imagine seeing grown-ass men in jail hanging tissue for wedding decorations. AND one of them is Lil Wayne. Crazy.”

How exactly Lil Wayne became ordained is still up for discussion, but the ceremony definitely happened, and included a Gatorade toast to celebrate. Very Orange Is the New Black.

In the handwritten memoir titled Gone Til November, Carter also said that while he was doing time in 2010, he found out that his girlfriend had slept with his friend and fellow rapper, Drake. Drizzy even went and visited Carter at Rikers to apologize and tell his friend about the incident in person. What A Time To Be Alive.
