  • After rising to fame on the tenth season of “American Idol,” music star Haley Reinhart has since released her critically acclaimed debut album “Listen Up!,” performed for Muhammad Ali at his birthday celebration, appeared at the 2012 Lollapalooza Festival. In the process, she’s built up an incredibly enthusiastic and supportive fanbase of “Haliens,” and Reinhart took the time to answer their burning questions today on What’s Trending.

Having tapped into Twitter and social media to engage with her fans post-“Idol,” Haley said, “I was really luck that I had a lot of great fans that stuck around and supported me.” Still, she’s always pleasantly surprised when she meets someone who just discovered her from her new album.

The singer cites YouTube as a source of musical inspiration for her own career, specifically having introduced her to Sia and breakout YouTube pop sensation Justin Bieber. “I was actually thinking of doing his version of ‘Cry Me a River’ when I auditioned for ‘Idol,'” Haley said.

Haley also shared some of the things that she loves: covering “House of the Rising Sun,” cheetah print — as evident by her shoes — and getting back to Chicago for family and pizza!

When it comes down to it, what’s one word that describes Haley’s fans? “Awesomely dedicated.” That’s technically two words, but Haliens deserve it.

Looking toward the near future of Reinhart’s career, she’ll be on the road and opening for Allen Stone in November and has some more tricks up her sleeve that she teases but can’t fully reveal.
