It’s the opposite of Disneyland’s relentlessly cheerful, hyper-corporate Magic Kingdom – Dismaland, created by street artist Banksy, which features creepy weird attractions like a lasagna surgeon riding a merry-go-round, or the Grim Reaper rocking out to “Staying Alive” in a go-kart.

Banksy has announced a new art installation called Dismaland that will run for 5 weeks in the seaside English town of Weston-Super-Mare, starting August 22nd. “Bring the whole family to come and enjoy the latest addition to our chronic leisure surplus – a bemusement park. A theme park whose big theme is: theme parks should have bigger themes.”

It’s a satirical, dystopian take on a Disneyland-type park that will feature original works from Banksy along with over 50 other artists, including diamond skull creator Damien Hirst, conceptual visual artist Caitlin Cherry, and New York graffiti artist Stephen Powers, better known as ESPO.

The centerpiece is a Banksy original – a derelict, falling down version of the iconic Sleeping Beauty’s Castle from Disneyland.

In addition to weird rides and attractions, there are also plans for short films that will play on a loop, including a submission from the Internet’s own Ze Frank, and a series of concerts, including performances from Massive Attack, Run the Jewels and Pussy Riot.
