Kohl’s Airs LGBT-Inclusive Holiday Ad

First we had lesbians adopting cute kids and boy toys mingling with girl toys at Target, and now we have gay couples enjoying the holidays together. What is this world coming to?

The latest in adorable, inclusive and carefully strategized marketing is a commercial from Kohl’s, which briefly features a same-sex couple. It joins Tylenol and Campbell’s Soup in proclaiming that gay people do exist and have money that can be used to purchase household products from major brands.

This has sparked the usual response of some people cheering on America’s evolving attitudes toward gender and sexuality, and others declaring on Facebook that they will never buy these products again because they promote the homosexual lifestyle.

One day, possibly in my lifetime, a commercial like this will air and it’ll be so commonplace that we’ll just decide to go shopping or maybe roll our eyes at consumerism instead of getting all weepy.
