  • What were you doing when you were thirteen? Wait, gross, don’t tell me. What matters here is what Laura Bretan is doing while SHE’S thirteen, and what she’s doing is knocking ’em dead on America’s Got Talent. She sang opera, specifically Puccini’s “Nessun Dorma,” for the judges, and straight-up MURDERED it. Check out the original video here:

  • This story has everything. Cute kid, crazy talent, Simon Cowell still rocking the same weird Wolverine haircut after fifteen years in the public eye. Though, to be fair, I do have to knock young Laura on song selection — “Nessun Dorma,” though a great song, was also the song Paul Potts auditioned with on Britain’s Got Talent way back in the day. Remember him? Paul “Original Susan Boyle” Potts? Let me refresh your memory:

  • Ah, who am I kidding. She’s just a kid, we can’t be mad at her. Plus, think about it — Paul Potts is a big dude, you expect him to have that kind of lung capacity. But how little Laura pushed through this song is a downright mystery. Whatever black magic she pulled, she earned the season’s first Golden Buzzer and will be moving on to the next round.

What do you think? Do you wish you were as good at anything now as she is at opera at 13? Let us know!
