Amazon Prime Day Didn't Actually Suck This Year

I bought a scale and a crapload of protein powder because I like telling myself I'll eventually be healthy.

  • July 12th was Amazon Prime Day, and unlike last year, it wasn't absolute garbage! Hooray! Now we just need some of those kickass Amazon drones they've been promising us, and we'll entrust this mega-corporation with anything and everything.

Our host Ava Gordy has the full story in the video above. Amazon Prime Day, for those unfamiliar, is a holiday Amazon invented last year to entice people to sign up for their premium Prime service. Amazon Prime, which is not a giant talking robot but rather a paid subscription to, includes free two-day shipping of most Amazon orders, access to the Amazon Prime Now video library streaming service, access to Amazon Music, and more. (Amazon is not paying us for this, but if you're Jeff Bezos and you're reading this, know that we're totally down.)

Last year, Prime Day was widely mocked for mostly offering products no one wanted. But this year, the reaction was much more positive. Yours truly picked up some half-off protein powder and a scale that measures my body fat, because I think that somehow I'll eventually break my habit of eating my weight in hot garbage every day. I also got some dish towels, because I needed new dish towels. Not everything is a joke, people.
