Melania Trump isn't exactly known for being a brilliant diplomat. Once this election is (finally) over, we'll probably remember her for three things: 1. plagiarizing from Michelle Obama (or Twilight Sparkle), 2. possibly breaking immigration law, and 3. standing by her man for some reason after the Trump Tape leak.
Here's a particularly cringeworthy segment of Melania Trump's recent interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN:
Highlights: Melania calling Trump's comments "boy talk" (it's "locker room talk", Melania! STAY ON MESSAGE!), Melania claiming that Billy Bush egged on The Donald into saying horrific sh*t (even though all ol' Billy did was giggle like hell's jester Jimmy Fallon throughout the tape), and Anderson Cooper not buying any of it for a crisp greenback dollar.
Naturally, Twitter jumped all over this. The hashtag #BillyBushMadeMeDoIt quickly trended across the country, as Twitter users tried to see what else Billy Bush had nothing to do with that they could blame on Billy Bush. Our host RJ Aguiar has some of the best tweets in the video above.
That's now the fourth strategy the Trumps have used to try and excuse the tape: 1. half-heartedly apologize, as The Donald did on Facebook and Twitter shortly after the tape leaked; 2. calling it "locker room talk," as if that'll make anything better, 3. bring up Bill Clinton for some reason???, and now 4. blame it on Billy Bush.
I don't know about you, but I can't wait to find out what strategy #5 is, now that all of the first four have backfired. Presumably we'll see at the debate on Wednesday.
What do you think? Is this Billy Bush's fault? Let us know in the comments below or @WhatsTrending on Twitter.
