Does this remind you of anything involving a little blue bird or the social network of the largest search engine in the world?  In addition to paralleling with the open information visibility of Twitter and Google+ Facebook’s subscribe button also allows the Facebook population to generate traffic to Fan Pages and other profile pages that are used as main Facebook platforms.
For people who frequent Facebook because it has until recently existed as a walled-garden of sorts, this feature may not be too appealing. However, for people who have been dying to see updates from friends of friends or public figures, Facebook subscriptions are a dream come true.
