Social Media Discovers New Columbus Day Controversy
Ah, Columbus Day. One of our most controversial holidays has arrived, and once again, has been met with polarizing viewpoints. Sure, Columbus Day has many of the hallmarks of a traditional holiday: parades, a lack of delivered mail and closed banks. However, many are questioning its validity as a national holiday with this video on Facebook, which asks for Columbus Day to be reconsidered.
Social media has uncovered yet another controversy surrounding the holiday. No matter where people stand on whether we should observe Columbus Day, many of you out there are asking: if we’re going to have such a thing as “Columbus Day”, why can’t we all get the day off?
