Once again, Harold Camping’s prediction that the end of the world was near was dead wrong.
Back in May, the 89-year-old Oakland preacher and radio broadcaster prophesied that the Rapture (aka doomsday) was coming, and had people all over the Internet participating in a plethora of pre-Apocolyptic memes. After May 21st failed to be doomsday, Camping said it was a “spiritual” ending of sorts, and that October 21st would “probably” be the real Judgment Day.“I do believe we’re getting very near the very end,” Camping, 90, said during a podcast recorded earlier this month and posted on his Family Radio website. “Oct. 21, that’s coming very shortly, that looks like it will be, at this point, it will be the final end of everything.”
While people weren’t posting pictures online of their clothes laid to symbolize their bodies being taken by the rapture this time around, plenty of folks expressed their views on Camping’s second miscalculation on Twitter.
