  • Former First Daughter, Chelsea Clinton is about to take a stab at television news reporting for NBC. The peacock network announced this morning that she’ll begin covering stories that will be used in the “Making a Difference” series, which airs on “NBC Nightly News.”

In a statement Chelsea said, “I hope telling stories through ‘Making a Difference’ — as in my academic work and nonprofit work — will help me to live my grandmother’s adage of ‘Life is not about what happens to you, but about what you do with what happens to you.’ ”

Do we spy a new network news trend? Chelsea is not the first political offspring to turn NBC journalist. She’s following in the footsteps of George W. Bush’s daughter, Jenna Bush Hager, who works as a correspondent for the “Today” show. Keeping company Chelsea and Jenna is Senator John McCain’s daughter and MSNBC contributor Meghan McCain and Senator Scott Brown’s daughter Ayla Brown, who is a special contributor for CBS’s “The Early Show.”
