Persons of Interest: Rebecca Black and Jim Caviezel

  • The Person of Interest CBS series, starring Jim Caviezel, is extremely formulaic and a tremendously mild attempt at adding a "high concept" to a procedural. But, yet I have seen every episode, and will most likely see the remaining episodes in the freshman series' full season order. Perhaps it's because I think Caviezel is horrible at playing a badass and have convinced myself that's what makes him perfect for the role? Perhaps, I believe there is a deeper social relevance to the intersection of technology and fate that the show alludes to and am willing to spend 22 hours trying to figure it out? Or, maybe I'm just too lazy to change my DVR settings?

The Person of Interest music video starring Rebecca Black is extremely formulaic and a tremendously mild attempt at pop music. But, I have watched the video three times and have already started humming the chorus. Perhaps it's because Rebecca Black seems to have no passion behind her lyrics and have convinced myself that's what makes her prefect to represent the apathetic youth? Perhaps, I believe there is a deeper social relevance to making a song about NOT being in love, filled with trite word play, than there is in the majority of dance music filled with overt sexual innuendo and false promises of "forever." Or, maybe I'm just too lazy to search beyond the YouTube front page?

Help me out. Here's R.B.'s, new video for Person of Interest...
