  • Iraq War veteran turned soap opera star, J.R. Martinez, took center stage last night, winning the coveted Dancing With The Stars championship mirrorball trophy.

The 28-year-old motivational speaker, who previously recovered having 40 percent of his body burned in a mine explosion, has made it a point to put himself in the public eye and set a positive example for America.

“You’ve got such a sparkling personality, you just light up this room,” “DWTS” judge Len Goodman said.

Martinez and his dance partner Karina Smirnoff beat out some tough contenders for the DWTS winning title, including fellow finalists Rob Kardashian and Ricki Lake.

  • Here’s a clip of the dancing duo performing the Rumba.
  • Next up for the Martinez is co-hosting a special annual ‘CNN Heroes’ tribute with Anderson Cooper, which will air on December 11th. Here’s some celebratory online conversation about the champion.
