  • Tim tebow broncos 300x206

Tebow brought his Broncos back from an insurmountable deficit yesterday.

  • Over half of the fifteen games games played for week 14 have been decided by a touchdown or less. That’s right. of the fifteen games thus far, a possession has separated the two opponents in eight of them. Some of these games were back and forth affairs. Others incorporated highly improbable come-backs.

But, if you’re unlike me and have more important things to do in life than create a small crater on your couch in your favorite pajamas all weekend and watch football while eating frosted min-wheats three meals a day, then you may have missed out on some of these great games. I mean, these were some great games. So much so, that co-workers and friends who did happen to catch them will be talking all about them until Wednesday or Thursday. But, we here at What’s Trending, want you to be in the know. That is why I have compiled a short list of the eight thrilling games from yesterday that will tell you a sentence of what happened.

    Atlanta 31, Carolina 23 Final

Atlanta trailed big at halftime and Cam Newton looked great, but then Atlanta came out a completely different team in the second half and scored 24-straight points.

Sentence to use to make it sound like you somehow caught the game: And Julio Jones, after dropping all those passes, man, did he come through with those two clutch TD’s, or what?

    Houston 20, Cincinnati 19

After Cincinnati dominated the first half, Houston chipped away at the lead and rookie quarterback T.J. Yates threw the game winning TD with 2 seconds left to win not only the game but also Houston’s first playoff berth and division championship.

Sentence to use to make it sound like you somehow caught the game: I guess they (Cincinnati) just got really conservative because it seemed like everything was wide open underneath–even the last touchdown.

    New Orleans 22, Tennessee 17

A defensive battle turned into a high-octane offensive thriller in the fourth quarter as New Orleans held off the Titans’ exciting back-up Rookie, Jake Locker.

Sentence to use to make it sound like you somehow caught the game: Brees just always seems to somehow overcome any force in his way and carry that team to success, whether its an individual play like the TD to Colston, or a Superbowl.

    Detroit 34, Minnesota 28

After losing the first half 31-14 the Vikings stormed back but a costly turnover on the one-yard-line gave the Lions the victory in the final seconds and hope for a possible playoff run.

Sentence to use to make it sound like you somehow caught the game: (referring to an obvious face-mask that caused the last second fumble) How did the refs not see that his hand was full of Joe Webb’s face-mask?

    New England 34, Washington 27

Washington nearly pulled off one of the year’s best upsets as they attempted to up-end the steady Patriots on a record setting day for Rob Gronkowski (the single-season record for 14 receiving TD’s by a Tight End).

Sentence to use to make it sound like you somehow caught the game: (On Gronkowski’s record-breaking TD celebration): I love how despite it being his 14th TD, you could see that he was just so excited that he had to spike the heck out of the ball, but then he came to his senses and made sure he caught it on its way down. (Laugh here).

    Arizona 21, San Francisco 19

Larry Fitzgerald’s 149 yards and 1 TD along with little-known QB John Skelton’s impressive day, the Cardinals caused the 49er’s to slip into a tie for the #2 seed with New Orleans in the NFC playoff picture.

Sentence to use to make it sound like you somehow caught the game: You know, it’s easy to forget about the Cardinals sometimes, but then you see Larry Fitzgerald just throwing guys around, like he did on that 60 yard catch by his teammate, and you remember how good they can be.

    Denver 13, Chicago 10 OT

Tim Tebow and the Broncos delivered another miraculous comeback, overtime victory as they took down the Bears, even though the trailed by two scores with just over two minutes to play in regulation.

Sentence to use to make it sound like you somehow caught the game: Tebow must have God on his side–look at that onside kick!

New York (Giants) 37, Dallas 34

Eli Manning and the G-men posted 15 points in the final three minutes and fourteen seconds to take a step closer to securing a playoff spot and a potential NFC East crown, and doing the inverse to the ‘Boys.

Sentence to use to make it sound like you somehow caught the game: I guess you can never count Eli out of a game; simple as that.
