Baseball’s home run hitter extraordinaire, Barry Bonds, has managed to skirt jail time, and has been sentenced to two years of probation, 30 days of house arrest, and 250 hours of community service instead for obstruction of justice. According to a court sentencing memo, the slugger could have potentially faced 15 months in prison.
The long road to Bonds’ conviction began during a steroids investigation in 2003. When Bonds was asked if his personal trainer ever gave him anything that required a syringe to use for injection, Bonds told the jurors that only his doctors “ever touch me.” The jurors said he was “evasive.’
