  • A new CNN poll has revealed that GOP Presidential hopeful, Rick Santorum, is surging in the Iowa caucus race. While Mitt Romney has gained the number one spot at 25% and Ron Paul is at 22%, Santorum’s 16% percent voter support seems to have come out of nowhere.

CNN political writer Paul Steinhauser noted that the former Pennsylvania senator might be “campaigning on a shoestring budget, but he’s visited all of Iowa’s 99 counties and has made a strong pitch towards social conservative voters.”

Watch below as Santorum discusses the results below with The Iowa Republican on YouTube.

  • According to the National Grassroots Coordinator for Santorum, Shelley Ahlersmeyer, his website also hit record numbers following the results.

Here are some reactions from the web. Were you surprised to see Santorum in 3rd place in Iowa?
