  • After finishing in sixth place in the Iowa Caucus, Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann has announced that she’s dropping out of the race to the White House. During a news conference Wednesday morning, Bachmann said, “last night the people of Iowa spoke with a very clear voice and so I have decided to stand aside.” She also said she’d “continue to be a strong voice” in opposition of Barack Obama.

Needless to say, her run was fun for the Internet while it lasted. The Minnesota Congresswoman provided plenty of social media fodder with her electric stare, which resulted in the meme and app Bachmann-eyezed. It all started with a Newsweek cover and profile that came out over the summer. The feature was titled “The Queen of Rage,” with the subhead, “Michele Bachmann on God, the Tea Party, and the evils of government.”

  • The online reaction over Bachmann’s decision to suspend her run is favoring the choice she made.
