Major League Baseball Expands Playoffs, Adds Wild Card To Each League

  • Major League Baseball finally has come to the decision to add a second wild card to each league, now allowing ten teams to make the playoffs. This comes after a whole off-season of speculation about whether if baseball would make changes to their playoff format for the first time since 1995. The two wild cards will now face each other in a one game wild card round with the winner moving on to the best of five game division series.

    I, for one, am excited about this change. It allows also-rans like the Baltimore Orioles to actually have a chance at making the playoffs. Oh, wait. No, it doesn’t. The Orioles stink and have no chance at winning anything ever. Only six months until football season!
