  • “Let’s go Heat! Let’s go Heat! Let’s go Heat!”

The chants from inside the American Airlines Arena seemed like they never stopped, just like the Miami Heat. Using a relentless but balanced offensive onslaught, Miami defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-104 on Thursday night to claim their second NBA Championship.

Led by LeBron James, who punched in a triple-double with 26 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds, the Heat had three additional players scoring more than 20 points, including a sensational performance by Mike Miller, who scored seven three-point shots.

“This is a dream come true for me,” LeBron James later said. After he was asked what the first thing that went through his mind was: “It’s about damn time.” He called it the greatest day of his life.
