  • Andy Griffith died on Tuesday at the age of 86, ending the life of a man whose name was synonymous with one of the greatest television shows in the history of American TV, “The Andy Griffith Show.” If you never saw the show, you almost certainly heard its theme song, a cheerful whistling riff that helped cement its place as one of the most memorable television shows of all time.
