  • Former FBI Director Louis Freeh led an eight-month investigation that discovered an enormous cover up created by Penn State’s top officials to protect alleged pedophile Jerry Sandusky over a ten year period. The officials including legendary head football coach Joe Paterno, and the report released on Thursday found that, as Freeh said during a press conference, “the most powerful men at Penn State failed to take any steps for 14 years to protect the children who Sandusky victimized.” Not surprisingly, the results of the 267 page report and the damning evidence it provided against Paterno, former Penn State presidents and athletic director resulted in a trending topic on Twitter.

  • Most people appeared upset at the priority the officials chose over the children’s safety, choosing instead to protect the football program and school’s prestige, although there were a few tweets saying they had grown tired of the ordeal. Here are some of the most shared and retweeted tweets about the Penn State report.
