Jessica Redfield, fatal victim of the Colorado shooting, wrote this blog post back in June, describing her luck after narrowly escaping a mall shooting in Toronto. It has gone viral on Tumblr: *Note: MSNBC reports that Jessica Redfield was a pseudonym for the above Jessica Ghawi.
I was shown how fragile life was on Saturday. I saw the terror on bystanders’ faces. I saw the victims of a senseless crime. I saw lives change. I was reminded that we don’t know when or where our time on Earth will end. When or where we will breathe our last breath. For one man, it was in the middle of a busy food court on a Saturday evening.
I say all the time that every moment we have to live our life is a blessing. So often I have found myself taking it for granted. Every hug from a family member. Every laugh we share with friends. Even the times of solitude are all blessings. Every second of every day is a gift. After Saturday evening, I know I truly understand how blessed I am for each second I am given.
Redditors have created a comprehensive timeline of the Aurora massacre, helping to fully update an incident report.
James Holmes is the name of suspect in custody for the shooting, and on Facebook, a man with a similar name who lives in nearby Littleton had received enough friend request from people who presumably thought he was the suspect that he decided to respond. He posted this public response on his Facebook page early on Friday, addressing the random people and clearing up the confusion. His post has been shared 230 times as of this publishing.
Here is a photo sent from the University of Colorado Denver, were suspect in custody James Holmes was a PhD student. The Denver Channel’s official twitter account tweeted the photo.
