‘Supernatural’ Cast & Crew Mourn Chad Everett on Twitter

  • Veteran actor Chad Everett, famous for starring in the 1960s CBS series Medical Center and the film Mulholland Drive, died Tuesday in Los Angeles after a year-and-a-half battle with lung cancer. He was 75.

    Everett leaves behind a career of over 50 years of work on an eclectic variety of films and television productions, including guest appearances on shows such as Murder, She Wrote, The Love Boat, Melrose Place, Supernatural, and Castle.

    It was his portrayal of Dr. Joe Gannon on TV’s Medical Center, which ran from 1969 to 1976, that really put Everett on the map. As one fan tweeted, he was the original Dr. McDreamy. Everett earned two Golden Globe Awards for bringing the character to life on the small screen.

    Everett is survived by his two daughters and six grandchildren. His wife of 45 years, Shelby Grant, passed away in June 2011.
