McKayla Maroney has been widely considered the best vaulter in the world, since she contributed a near-perfect vault to the Fab Five’s gold medal team performance this year at the London 2012 Olympics.
But when it came to the individual competition for vault, the pressure and media attention had already mounted itself on Maroney’s shoulders, and she pummeled spectators’ high hopes by falling after her second vault attempt.
While the 16-year-old American gymnast still took home the silver medal for the event, she wasn’t all too impressed with herself, sporting a sour face of disappointment on the podium — which the Internet took the opportunity to turn into a meme.
This “McKayla is not impressed” Tumblr also surfaced earlier today, placing the gymnast and her unamused expression in contrastingly impressive settings.
