Ricky Gervais was so offensive at the Golden Globes last night! I am so angry at all the purposely insulting jokes he told, just like he did the previous three years! Ricky Gervais is such a jerk!
Honestly, it’s getting a bit hard to muster up the outrage anymore. Everybody knows the Golden Globes are an excuse for Hollywood stars to drink too much and for Gervais to try to get as many shocked reactions as he can by going for the most tasteless jokes he can think of. (He’s so edgy, guys.)
In case you weren’t drunkenly following along last night, we’ve got a highlight reel of his best (or worst) lines of the night, including saying Matt Damon is “the only person Ben Affleck hasn’t been unfaithful to,” taking a jab at Sean Penn’s secret interview with Mexican drug lord El Chapo, and of course, a tacky joke about Caitlyn Jenner – but not tacky in the way you’d expect! How sneaky.
Other entertaining stuff happened during the awards show, of course – like Leonardo DiCaprio winning Best Actor for “The Revenant,” bringing us one step closer to the internet flipping out when he doesn’t win an Oscar AGAIN, and “The Martian” winning Best Motion Picture in, weirdly, the Comedy and Musical categories.
The moment getting the most internet buzz today is the funny look Leo gave Lady Gaga as she brushed past his shoulder while heading to the stage to accept her award for Best Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie for her role in “American Horror Story: Hotel.”

When Entertainment Tonight asked him about it later, he said “Oh lord – that’s trending, huh?” and insisted “I just didn’t know what was passing me, that’s all!” – a weirdly-phrased explanation that still makes it sound like he’s not sure of Lady Gaga is a human or a space alien. Which is fair.
